Abstract
The study, as intended by the author, was to conduct a comparative analysis that sought to evaluate the functional performance of three steadily developing open source ILS worldwide, namely Koha, PHPMyLibrary and OpenBiblio. Open Source Software, as defined by the author, is a software developed by a community that users have the ability to run, distribute, study and modify the program for any purpose. These softwares provide alternative solutions to libraries with limited financial resources but are determined to improve their library services and staff skills. The author was able to come up with sufficient evaluation with the use of a sample data and a scoring scheme that measures the individual functional modules of each software.

Three-point Learning
1. Open source software is not limited to saving financial resources for the library but provides a good training ground for library staff in programming as well.

2. Open source software modules cut across different library services, giving librarians more time to attend to their users/patrons' needs and perform other necessary library tasks.

3. Because of its nature, an open source software can be fully customized to address the uniqueness of a library.

Application
Library professionals should be made aware of the benefits and advantages of open source softwares. A survey on the different open source softwares must be considered by libraries in making a decision towards automation of library systems to be successful.
